This month the topic for our Kaitaki was ‘Freestyle’ where our collective were given free reign to focus on any topic incorporating New Zealand food, that they felt strongly about.
One of our members - Priyanka Jayarajan a Photographer / Illustrator based in Canterbury took it upon herself to design a logo to represent our Kaitaki Collective. Which we launched last week on Day 2 of the Food Hui in Wellington.
As Priyanka describes...
“The Kaitaki logo design tries to embody the spirit of this collective - on its journey to preserve, celebrate and share food stories of our beloved land, waters and skies.”
We think you'll agree - it's beautiful.
Just like the individuals in our collective, so far, the content formats have been as reflectively diverse, engaging and insightful. We’ve seen podcast interviews between Phil, a North Canterbury farmer, and Ash & Zali from Karaka Lobster; self-produced and directed videos; recipes for spearfished butter fish; acrostic poetry; photography series; visual imagery; short form stories on food establishments; and long form pieces with formidable food personalities including Fleur Sullivan; producer showcases; Farmers market tours; Instagram story takeovers; blog posts; illustrations and more!
We are so proud of this group of talented humans and may their fire, drive and inspiration continue to work towards improving and celebrating all that we are and hope to be as a proud food nation.
We'll keep you up to date with all things food going on around New Zealand
(But don't worry, we won't spam your inbox with emails)
